April Updates

We hit the Outer Banks the first week in April. Rented a beach house in Corolla with our friends, the Garretts & the Schlundts...6 adults, 5 girls between the ages of 8 and 18 months. The girls had a ball! Emerson discovered a new fascination with Barbies, and learned to put her face underwater & hold her breath. She is totally ready for big-girl swimming lessons this summer. The Easter Bunny brought her an adorable pair of Dora swim goggles, which she now wears in the bathtub while practicing her flips & dives. We did a wild horse tour on the beach, which was awesome! We had a 70 yr old tour guide who was quite a character...I think he yelled, "Hi Baby!" out the window as we drove past a woman on the beach. Ah yes, good times! We did see a variety of wild horses though, and got pretty good photos!

We had family visitors this week. Keith's parents drove up from Florida and stayed a few nights with us, and then we were joined by Keith's sister & her family this weekend. Lots of fun watching the little cousins play together, and getting all caught up. We took the girls to get photos taken together @ JCP, and I got a few of Emerson for her 3 yr portraits. Needless to say, it was difficult to get the kid to crack a smile. Bribery by fruit snacks all the way.

We're looking forward to a visit from my Mom in May. I'm planning some adventures for us while she's here. Emerson is wondering, "Why does everyone want to come to OUR house to visit?". I told her it was because of her, and she giggled. She fell asleep tonight in her little blue ballet dress (with cute little filmy tutu attached). We're planning to sign up her for basic dance classes this August, and look forward to the little recital next June.

Busy month with work projects, MD appointments, and family visits!
